The team was led by head coach Nick Saban, in his sixth year, and played its home games at Bryant¨CDenny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. It finished the season with a record of 13 wins and 1 loss (13¨C1 overall, 7¨C1 in the SEC), as SEC champion and as consensus national champion after it defeated Notre Dame in the Bowl Championship Series (BCS) National Championship Game.
